It seems that my porch at the apartment gets an incredible amount of sunlight as noticed when I got to go home for a bit because the office building next to us killed the power due to it catching its HVAC system and the local transformer on fire.

I'm so Vegetable Gardening this spring/summer.

Christmas came early for me. I got a Creative Zen MP3 player over the weekend, and today I got the first episode of Macross Frontier. Going to need to download a better sub though. Got to wait another 4 months until the rest of the series starts.

It's been a long day, and very tiring physically, mentally, and emotionally. I don't want to go through it at the moment. Right now I think I am going to retire (ie sleep) for a bunch. I am sorry ot those all I missed on contacting. That and I think months of not sleeping go to me. I will talk to everyone tomorrow.

For those interested in the Star Wars: Expanded Universe (the comics, the novels, and the Clone Wars cartoon), Sideshow Collectables is conducting a poll. Their poll focuses on 6 characters from the expanded universe to make 12" figures out of.

Voting is open until November 4th.

Characters include Grand Admiral Thrawn from the Thrawn Trilogy, and Mara Jade, and the other 4 come from the comics and Clone Wars cartoon.

So I am sitting here minding my own business, playing a little KOTOR (great RPG so far), when I start to hear water running from the bathroom. I was like "Huh, that's wierd. I though the water was off." So I pause the game (great idea, allowing to pause in battles) and check it out. There was water everywhere. It was coming from a bubble of water created by water getting trapped behind the paint, and from the ceiling itself.

So I made it drain into the shower, and went upstairs to ask them what was going on. The neighbors said it happens to them too from the people above them, and gave me maintences number. I called them, and they said they would be out tomorrow to check on it.

It was just wierd.

So as I was reading Insert Credit today, I came across an article about Czech doujin shooter. The details of the game did not make me jump to get the demo, but I was intrigued by the music choice. They chose to get the band Machinae Supremacy (Website: http://www.machinaesupremacy.com/ ) to do the tracks for the game. So I downloaded the sample track on IC, and proceeded to listen to it. It's awesome. It reminds me a lot of Nightwish, but with a lot of different mediums used. They even use game samples, which is neatly intertwined.

Everything would have gone better, if this candidate had taken office. At least the world would be safe from stuff

On a more personal, health note, I have pink eye in both my eyes now (as opposed to just one eye yesterday) and they have become sensitive to light. Meaning this post was probably the most excruciating thing today besides attempting to go outside. I think the bastard sun flash fired my retinas >_< I got medicine for them, so hopefully they will calm down.

I was just really busy in the month of August. Here's what has been going down.

- Maria flew in on the last week of July. She was here for about 5 weeks. It was a great time. She played a lot of games while here. She ended up finishing Final Fantasy X, Xenosaga (again) and almost finished X-2.

- Otakon 2004(July 31-1): Other than the pain and the hotel it was fun. (had a post about this already)

- Working and living in Laurel. Definitely a different living situation.

- Royal Caribbean Cruise: Grandeur of the Seas (August 15 - August 22): It was a 7-day cruise that the family, Maria, and Amy's friend went on for my father's 50th birthday. Spent two of those days at sea, a day at Freeport, Bahamas (walking around), a day at Key West, FL (walking around, Margarittaville, and the Mel Fisher Museum), Coco Cay, Bahamas (a island owned by Royal Caribbean; went Kayaking for the first time), and a final day at Port Canaveral (Kennedy Space Center). Other than getting horribly sun burnt, it was fun.

- Getting ready for school. I went book shopping today. I got almost all my books except one Japanese textbook, and it is the textbook we use in classes. It is coming by UPS, and should be here in the middle of the week.

That's really all. Back to regular updates, I guess.

Highlights

- X Group: A statistical improbability. In planning, we had the entire cast (DoE, DoH, Kanoe, Hinoto-hime, and others). At the time of the group, everyone showed up.
A sign of the End of the World? Maybe, but still it was awesome.

- Xeno Group: Even though I was only there for the last five minutes, it still rocks. Still feel a little left out, seeing (at the time I got there) the only Saga support was a Shelley and myself.

- Meeting online people like Hinano, James, Lisa, and Adekii. It was quite the fun and enjoyable weekend because of that.

- Running into Adekii and spending 15 minutes playing with the Kaixa driver, the Kaixa pointer, and the Faiz shot. He was cool. I want a Faiz driver real bad now, or even a Blade Rouzer. *contemplates Toku cosplay*

Downsides

- The several personal injuries. I had a wierd stomach thing on Friday night after the X dinner. Then on Saturday, I f*cked up my knee. It's still a little stiff, but it feels better than it did while sitting on the corner of Hanover and Lombard.

- A lot of missed events. Due to acting self centered like, I made people miss events. Sorry for what I did.

- The Cosplay contest (not the Hall Costume Contest, but the skits). The skits were awesome (Kyle, Matt, and others - Your skit was awesome!), but the judges seemed a bit ...biased.

- The Brookshire Suites. GOD DAMN THAT CHAIN OF HOTELS TO THE SIXTH LEVEL OF HELL. Over priced, out of the way, tiny rooms, no vending machines, and inefficent money management (they still have the hold on my credit card even though I settled my room in cash.) The only good thing about it was the free breakfast buffet on both Saturday and Sunday, which can probably be manipulated by anybody that walks into the hotel because it does not check if you are staying there.

In one week I will officially be living on the Western shore. I move into the apartment on Friday, July 16th. Mike will have been there for two days already, so I am sure everything will go smooth. I have to go up there this weekend to sign my portion of the lease, and pay my portion of the prorate rent. (So anybody who lives over there, what are you doing this Saturday during the day?)

I got stuff for my Kusanagi costume today. The shirt fits well, but I have to return the pants. They coould have fit me from 6 months ago. All I need to do is pick up the black gloves, and dye my hair (if I can get a definate on whether his hair is black or not...or just dark brown.). Other than that, It's pretty much secure.

Going to dinner now...back laters ^^

King of Fighters 2000/2001 Combo Pack

So last night at the Annapolis Mall, before I went to dinner with some friends, I stopped in EB. While browsing the selection, I noticed the price of the KOF 2000/2001 combo pack had dropped about 15 dollars, and had now fallen into the "affordable" range. So, I purchased it. So far, both games are excellent ports. Here are some of the good things.

KOF 2000 -
- Party mode - Excellent way to unlock people. Like survival, but not. You are given a 5 minute time limit. After that time limit is up, you start loosing life.
- Memory - Openings of past KOF games. Each one is unlocked with different conditions ranging from time played to combos, to battle points, to beating a character in practice.
- Original or Arranged OST - Was in the Dreamcast version, but still a great feature.

KOF 2001 -
- Also has party mode to unlock stages, strikers, and the bosses.
- Loading times are improved, and so is the character art.
- New opening as well.

Just confirmed: I got the apartment I wanted. Well I knew we got it yesterday, but I had to check with Mike to see if he got a call too. He did, so we go the place. The apartment we chose is on the first level in a corner I believe, which makes it bigger than a lot of the others. We start renting July 14th.

- It's 10 to 15 minutes from everything I need to get to. This is at least what mapquest says, but dealing with

While I was on the job today, I stumbled over and dropped something. I bent over to pick it up, and noticed something shiny by the tool. I pick it up, and it was a silver/goldish ring with writing all over it. Upon closer inspection, it was the runes from the One Ring. I found the One Ring on a job to replace a toilet.

So what's the quickest route to Mount Doom? Route 50, to I-495 N until Exit 23 for Kennilworth, turn on to Paint Branch road, and then drive a mile or two and I'll be at the gates right?....Oh wait, that was directions to UMD.

- I get paid (I think for 50 hours of work)
- Possibly put the money in the bank.
- I get sized and then order a set of BDU's for Kusanagi (Blue costume would be nice, but it would take more time than needed)

Saturday:
- Put the money in the bank if hadn't done so on Friday.
- Get Haircut at 11.
- Travel up to Laurel and meet Mike at 2 to look at apartment complex of the gods.

Sunday:
- Decide if want to go through with the Elias costume.
- Sleep.

The Real Post

Well maybe not 7 ideas, but this is the real post I have been promising. I'm sure if anyone gets the stupid reference I made in the lj-cut, I am going to be getting a lot of backlash from it. And I hope so, because it is a really bad reference.

First off I would like to say that I plan to be moving sometime in July up to a place (possibly) in Laurel. I went apartment hunting today for a long time, and ran across one that was within the price range I was looking for. Plus it included all utilites, and was in a good neighborhood. Upon getting home, I checked it on an apartment rating site, and it scored a 83%. Alls I have to do is get Mike to see it, and hopefully approve. Then it's the moving process.

In order for that to happen, I need money. So at the beginning of June I got a job around here. Right now I work as a driver and assistant to a master plumber for a company that knows my parents well. The job pays well, and since I have very little expenses, I can save a lot of money. Which is always a good thing.
The only bad this is it kills a lot of my free time.

Money will be used for a lot of things. Things like rent, food, and utilites like cable and cable internet. Not only will it be used for that, but it will also be used for Otakon and cosplay stuff. Currently, I am debating what I am going to do for it. I know I am currently participating in a X/1999 group as Kusanagi but I don't know which version I am going to do. I have found images for two costumes I would really like to do of his, but it all comes down to ease. The first one is his anime costume, simple and can be bought everywhere. The second one is from an art book (I think the blue one). It's basically a cop uniform.
I am also involved in the Xenosaga/Xenogears group as Capt. Matthews. I know there are a few things I can touch up on with him. My last dilemma with this is whether or not I want to wear Maxima again and suffer, or make Elias from Rage of the Dragons.I just remember last Otakon, sweating a lot in Maxima ..and it was uncomfortable. He might be put off to a more climate appropriate convention.

Maria is coming here at the end of July and staying into August. I can't wait for that. It will be just fun just like it always is. I do miss her everyday.

My friend Rob is off to Iraq soon. Hopefully he'll be safe, it's kinda scary over there. I wish I had saw him more before he left.
